2026 Event Calendar

Published Tue 18 Nov 2025

Following review and approval by the Race Committee and presentation at the November Club meeting, the 2026 event calendar has been published.

The schedule of races for 2026 includes 20 Inshore series races (8 A, 6 B and 6 C) 18 Ocean Series (9 Long and 9 Buoy) 4 sails to Laurieton, three Regattas (Australia Day, Inshore and Offshore) and 25 Twilight races, that is a total of 75 days on the water.

Some tides don’t always make for great sailing with the 1st of Feb 2026 being potentially one of the most challenging for sailors with highest tide of 2026 during an event of 1.59m the River B is the most appropriate course to be sailed. The lowest tide during racing occurs during the Ocean Buoy on September 27th of 0.16m. The lowest tide of 2026 falls on Christmas day at 5:09pm of 0.08m and the highest on the 16th June at 9:46pm of 1.78m

Creating the calendar is based on the work from Peter Finnegan who for many years laboriously sweated over the tide tables creating the calendar by hand. The current process uses the same base data of the tide tables for Port Macquarie and selects events based on the tide times. Offshore events are based on a low tide to ensure that yachts have a safe return over the bar whist inshore are based around the high tide, particularly for the River C events aiming not to be fighting the tide on the journey to Dennis Bridge.

If you think that you have found an error, please don’t hesitate to provide feedback. Just email contact-us@pmyc.com.au with some details and it will be reviewed. If there are differences between the event calendar and the club’s website event registration, the event calendar should be used as the reference.
